Tetso college and fire department collaboration

Chumoukedima, February 20 2025 – Tetso College, in collaboration with the esteemed Fire Breaker team from Chumoukedima, conducted an extensive fire and disaster preparedness awareness workshop and drill at the college amphitheatre. The event, held from 9:45 AM to 10:40 AM, witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The workshop commenced with a profound opening address delivered by the Fire Breaker team, led by Sub Inspector Konyak and his diligent team members.
Throughout the session, the Fire Breaker team meticulously demonstrated crucial rescue techniques. These included methods to carry a victim or casualty with an injured showcasing various hand sits such as the different types of hand sit. These demonstrations provided the attendees with invaluable practical knowledge on effective rescue methods. The team further emphasised the importance of CHUMUKEDIMA, MONDAY 24, 2025 Improvisation and the utilization of fire extinguishers. They elaborated on the three essential elements of fire—heat, fuel, and oxygen—and discussed different types of fires, drawing examples from Burma Camp fire incident . The workshop comprehensively covered various classes of fires, including Class A, Class B (fog type), Class C (dry chemicals, the most common), and Class D fires.
A notable segment of the workshop was dedicated to safety precautions regarding LPG cylinders. The Fire Breaker team conducted a hands-on demonstration on extinguishing LPG cylinder fires using a wet towel and a bucket. This demonstration underscored the significance of swift and effective responses in such scenarios.
The workshop concluded with a photo session, capturing moments of learning and collaboration. The event was widely regarded as a success, equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills to handle fire and disaster emergencies proficiently.
